About the distillery

Scapa Distillery, Region Island, Located In Kirkwall, Orkney was founded in 1885 by Macfarlane & Townsend however was sold to several owners and in 1954 Hiram Walker purchased the distillery under the company ownership Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd who were brought into the Pernod-Ricard portfolio in 1959 and rebuilt the distillery. By 1994 the distillery only ran for minor periods during the year and in 2004 the distillery was modernized and updated through significant investment, production resumed at the distillery towards the end of 2004.
