About the distillery
Japan’s highest located distillery at just over 2,600 feet. Constructed in 1985 by Hombo Breweries the distillery located at the foot of the Komagatake alps. Production of whisky only takes place during the winter months which due to a growing popularity now lasts over 6 months. The Hombo Family have been brewing for over a century. The distillery did cease production in 1992 with Suntory and Nikka having global Success. Production restarted in 2011 and produced Whisky is bottled under the Komagatake brand.

The second Lamigo Monkeys expression, "Monkey King", this blended whisky was bottled in 2019 to honour the Lamigo Monkeys achievements in 2017 and 2018. A limited edition, one of only 3,000 bottles.
