The Teapot Dram was created to a 150 year old tradition within the Glengoyne Distillery. The Brewer would select alternate casks weekly giving the workers a dram 3 times per day. Some were unable to finish the dram with all leftovers decanted into a teapot for some to enjoy throughout the day This is Release 8 of the Teapot Dram series. About the distillery

Glengoyne distillery, region Highland located in Dumgoyne was founded in 1833 officially however it did operate as an illicit distillery and is to be believed that the actual founding date was the early 19th century, it was owned by George Connell who founded the distillery. The distillery began production in 1833 and at the time was known as Burnfoot Distillery, in 1876 the distillery was sold to the Lang Brothers who re-named the distillery Glengoyne and maintained ownership for nearly 90 years until 1965 when it was sold to Robertson & Baxter Group (known today as the Edrington Group, who acquired Robertson & Baxter Group in 1966) and rebuilt the distillery to increase production. In the 1990's the distillery changed its focus from blended whisky to single malts & In 2003 Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd acquired Glengoyne Distillery. Glengoyne had a brief feature on a single episode of the Scottish comedy sit com "Still Game".
