About the distillery

Balblair Distillery, region Highland, located in Edderton was found in 1790 by John Ross who ran the distillery until 1894. The distillery changed ownership a number of times and in 1948 Robert Cumming took ownership. Robert expanded the distillery to increase production and remained in ownership until he retired in 1970 when he sold the distillery to Hiram Walker. In 1996 the distillery was purchased by Inver House Distillers who were acquired by ThaiBev The distillery has also taken to the screens and played a part in the comedy movie "The angles share"
